Martin has joined the team of Crimewatch, working alongside the show’s current presenters Kirsty Young and Matthew Amroliwala. Martin’s first show will be on BBC One on Tuesday 20 March at 9pm. Martin served as a police officer in the Metropolitan and Bedfordshire forces, during which time he also played top-flight rugby, winning thirty-one caps with England and three with the British Lions. Martin left the police when rugby turned professional.

Martin says: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the team on Crimewatch. It is a great honour to be asked to join such an important programme and to lend my support to a police service I served so happily for ten years and who supported me so magnificently through my rugby career”.
